HOW TO CUT FOR ONE CARD AND CREATE FOUR!

April 6, 2022

Today for my Facebook Live I decided to use the Slim Card Dies from Stampin' Up! I have had them for several months but this was the first time I really got around to playing with them. This set of dies will help you make four, yes I said four cards from basically one cut. In order to create the first card, I had to cut 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of each of the four colors, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride and Basic White. When I was done putting together the puzzle in the back ground I had a ton of the pieces left. One of the great things about these dies is that a lot of them fit into several of the spaces on the card. By the time I had used up all of the cut out pieces I had created FOUR cards. For each 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock which I cut I had a piece left that was larger than 7 x 8 1/2 so I trimmed it down to that size and scored on the 7" side a 3 1/2.

Measurements

Cut 7 x 8 1/2, score at 3 1/2 on the 7" side (one of each color)

Use the remaining 4 inches to cut out the die (one of each color)
Cut 1 of each color of the 2nd largest scallop rectangle using Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Cut 1 of each color of the 3rd largest scallop rectangle using Stitched So Sweetly Dies

On the next part I didn't do a very good job of switching things around. I wanted to cut one of each color to stamp on but lost my way. I stamped the greetings in Basic Gray and used greetings from Expressions of Friendship (a host set from January - June 2022 Mini Catalog) and from Flowers of Friendship

Inside
I cut a piece to match the frame on the front of the card 3 1/4 x 8 1/4
Cut 3 x 8 Basic White, adhere to the coordinating color and attach to the inside of the card

Today I wanted to show you how you can used this fun stamp & die set and not use the Designer Series Paper. I love the coordinating Designer Series Paper but I think there are about a million posts on the interned showing how to use the DSP so I wanted to reach outside the box and use something else. I selected the wood grain DSP from Beautiful Gallery and I love the way it came out. Be sure to download the free Project Sheet below

For this card I started out with the beautiful 2025-27 In Color Strawberry Slush. I used the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and die to cut the flowers. I added the beautiful Metallic Texture Rub Ons to add bling to the card. You will find all of these things in my Stampin' Up! store . Be sure to download the Free Project Sheet for all the measurements.

This sweet card uses the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape with the die to cut the flowers. I attached the tape to a piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. This made for a bunch of beautiful flowers to attach to the front and inside of the card. The greeting is from Year of Flowers. I added the beautiful little Iridescent Pearls to the centers of the flowers . The background is embossed with Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder. You will find all these products listed below along with Free Project Sheet.

No, I am not stuck on this set of dies, however, this idea came to me through an indirect route and I of course had to change it up and do it a little differently. The Thankful Garden Bundle or the Pretty Floral Bundle could be used for this idea. Actually any set of die cut flowers would work. I used an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic White for my card base so the card opens at the top instead of the side to create a beautiful and fun easel fold
