SKETCH CHALLENGE #5

Jul 15, 2021

A sketch challenge is suppose to be a place to start from. The card doesn't always come out looking just like the sketch. At least that is the way it is for me. Sometimes better and sometimes worse. A sketch challenge is to help you get started and then you can take over and make it your own.  This week I challenge you to add another layer to the sketch. That means you have to change the measurements of the layers already there or figure out the new measurements. To change one layer to go over another layer you will cut the top layer 1/8 or 1/4 inch smaller depending on how much of that layer you want to show. In my chase I cut the Basic White layer 1/8 inch smaller because I wanted just a little of the black to show.

Have fun with the challenge and send me your final result.

I used the Color & Contour Bundle and the following products

Measurements

Cut 4 1/4 x 11 Fresh Freesia, score at 5 1/2
Cut 4 x 5 1/4 Basic Black
Cut 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 (NOTICE THE MEASUREMENTS? 1/8") Whisper White

Cut 1 x 5 1/2 Basic Black and use the die to cut, I used the scallop die and on the 2nd card I used the largest rectangle from the dies and just cut one edge
Cut 2 1/4 x 1 In Color Designer Series Paper

Scraps of Basic White for the flowers and greeting which was cut with the smallest rectangle die
Add bow and Bling and you're all set!

Inside:
Cut 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White
Cut 1/2 x 4 DSP, adhere to the Basic White, adhere to inside of card

This is the most adorable stamp set! The characters are so cute you won't want to miss out on this one. It also has dies that coordinate with it to make it even more adaptable.

The Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack makes amazing, quick and easy cards. Just create a card layout of your choice, add complimentary Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the flower image you chose and you are well on your way to creating a beautiful card. You will need a few basics to take your card to the next level. Here I used the Spotlight on Nature Dies, Eyelet Embossing Folder & Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper. The greeting came from So Sincere.

For this one I used Summer Splash the last of the five colors in the 2024-26 In Color Collection. I used Trusty Tools Bundle and Happy Little Things to bring this color to life. This coordinates well with Pool Party, as suggested by the name, and Pretty Peacock.

This is the fourth of the five new 2024-26 In Colors Petunia Pop. I love this color and it fits in well with our color families. Here I have added Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia to the card as accents. I did partial die cutting using the Simply Zinnia Bundle and the Stampin' Cut Machine.
