2nd Day of Christmas

Lovely As A Tree is the oldest current stamp set we have. Each year we anxiously check the new annual catalog to see if it is still there. It is such a good basic set and that is probably why is remains. It is great for spring, fall, Christmas and guy cards. Whenever I am in doubt about what I want, I reach for this set. It is kind of like Whisper White paper - a good staple to have in stamping! If you haven't purchased it yet it is one I recommend. There are so many ideas and ways to use it you won't want to miss out on the chance to own it. Once again it is in my Christmas collection. Here I have paired it with Santa's Sleigh. This was my most popular card of all 14!

Start with a card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 of Very Vanilla. I don't like to emboss my card base and this one is embossed with Softly Falling embossing folder 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. The next layer is the Gold Foil oval cut with the Layering Oval dies and the Vanilla Oval cut with the next size down in the Layering Oval dies. Stamp the trees with VersaMark and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. The Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is 5 1/2 x 1 1/4. By doing the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 embossed layer you can wrap the Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon around the layers and hide the ends. Cut the sleigh from a 2 1/2 x 4 Gold Foil and the top of the sleigh from a 1 3/4 x 4 Gold Glimmer paper.
