August 2019 Calendar

August 21, 2018

How is it that times goes so fast?

Each month I tell myself that I am going to do more blogging and each month I find it harder and harder to find the time. I really want to do it but right now I have a Daisies & Dragonflies Team meeting tomorrow night, 4 clubs to prepare for (the first one is on this Thursday), Stamp Camp will be coming really soon on the first Saturday of the month and a Craft Fair in November. I get up in the morning and work all day and drop into bed only to rise again and do it all over again. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WHAT I DO! I just wish there were more hours in a day. If anyone figures out how to make that happen short of giving up my 8 hours of sleep, please let me know.

Today I have the August calendar page for the 2019 Calendar. This is kinda the last days of summer and that is where we are right now. Love those lazy days of summer before all the fall clamor begins. Kids back to school, Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas and New Years. Wow that sounds like the end of the year is coming soon!

Today I wanted to show you how you can used this fun stamp & die set and not use the Designer Series Paper. I love the coordinating Designer Series Paper but I think there are about a million posts on the interned showing how to use the DSP so I wanted to reach outside the box and use something else. I selected the wood grain DSP from Beautiful Gallery and I love the way it came out. Be sure to download the free Project Sheet below

This card uses the beautiful new Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection to create a fun Backbend Easel Card. This is one of the many Suites that are on sale during the month of June 2025.

For this card I started out with the beautiful 2025-27 In Color Strawberry Slush. I used the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and die to cut the flowers. I added the beautiful Metallic Texture Rub Ons to add bling to the card. You will find all of these things in my Stampin' Up! store . Be sure to download the Free Project Sheet for all the measurements.

This sweet card uses the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape with the die to cut the flowers. I attached the tape to a piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. This made for a bunch of beautiful flowers to attach to the front and inside of the card. The greeting is from Year of Flowers. I added the beautiful little Iridescent Pearls to the centers of the flowers . The background is embossed with Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder. You will find all these products listed below along with Free Project Sheet.

No, I am not stuck on this set of dies, however, this idea came to me through an indirect route and I of course had to change it up and do it a little differently. The Thankful Garden Bundle or the Pretty Floral Bundle could be used for this idea. Actually any set of die cut flowers would work. I used an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic White for my card base so the card opens at the top instead of the side to create a beautiful and fun easel fold
