Colorado Kids

I am still visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Colorado. The weather has been beautiful and we have had some great times together just walking through life. I am so glad to be here with them. We only have a couple more days. She works from home too so we are having a work day today. We were both ready for it.

I have created two cards with the same basic design. I used the base of one to create the second one so I thought I would show you how you can take a card and make a few changes and use it for another stamp set. I will show you the second one tomorrow.

COLORFUL SEASONS
Cut the Whisper White at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2; with the long side at the top score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Cut another Whisper White at 8 1/2 x 2 3/4; with the long side at the top score at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4. Cut the Smokey Slate at 4 x 5 1/4, (2) 5 1/4 x 1 7/8 adhere these to the card base. Cut the Smokey Slate at 4 x 2 1/2, (2) 2 1/2 x 1 7/8; emboss these using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Adhere these to the 8 1/2 x 2 3/4 Whisper White. Once this is done adhere this strip to the card base be sure the longest section is on the left hand side and the card base has the smallest section on the left hand side. Adhere only the small sides. Do not adhere the entire 8 1/2 x 2 3/4 sheet to the card base. Just put glue on the right and left sides.

Now for decorating the card.

Cut the chair from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies in Whisper White and cut off the bottom section and the chair arms. Cut the flowers from The Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies in Powder Pink and Flirty Flamingo. The branch is cut from Basic Gray using the branch from Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and woven through the gate.

The doily left over from last year’s Christmas Catalog is just the perfect size for the front of this card. Cut a 1 7/8″ Circle from the Stitched Shaped Dies in Whisper White and Stamp with Flirty Flamingo on it with the Birthday Stamp. Punch a 2″ circle in Flirty Flamingo using the punch; adhere it to the doily. Attach the Whisper White Circle to the Flirty Flamingo. Finish off with pearls in the flowers and you have a sweet birthday card.
